Confessions of a Shopaholic: Yumnah Najah La Reine Collection

Last year, I stumbled on an indie jewelry designer by the name of Yumnah Najah. It was during an event and Yumnah had her own station set up displaying all her fancy hand-painted jewels. Once I stumbled on Yumnah's famous Mondrian ring, I was hooked. And I've kept up with the collection ever since.

Wearing my Yumnah Najah Mondrian Ring (from Airing The Laundry)
Today Yumnah Najah released photos of her latest jewelry collection and I'm loving it. The collection is affectionately named La Reine, meaning "Queen" in french. And the pieces are so appropriately regal. Check out the pics below:

She has a combination of really creative, hand-painted jewels for every style.

I'm gagging over this model's hair - so chic!

Just in time for the Spring/Summer, I need to get a few new statement earrings.

Home Improvement: The Fireplace

So I've just moved into a new home and I'm currently obsessed with all things home decor. If you follow me on Instagram (username: LoveBrownSugar), you probably saw me posting updates from around my space this week as I'm finally getting settled.

I've dreamed of having my own fireplace for ages. Now I finally have one and I can't be more excited. I decided to use the wooden mantle for displaying my favorite beauty goods and accessories.

My room faces the backyard area so I have a view of the garden out back. Love waking up to greenery and sunlight.

Slowly adding jewels to my decorative jewelry holder. This is a work in progress, I literally have boxes and boxes of jewels to comb through and "edit" so only the best pieces end up here.

I'll keep you guys updated on the home design process. In the meantime, check out my "A House Is Not A Home" board on Pinterest. Should give you an idea of my inspiration.

PNK Elephant Accessories Style Soiree

Last night I had the pleasure of attending a special Style Soiree hosted by the lovely ladies of PNK Elephant Accesories. PNKElephant.com features an amazing line of affordable glam jewelry pieces from bracelets to necklaces and rings. All retailing between $5-$30, the pieces are handpicked with trend and budget in mind. Those being my two favorite things (style + budget), I couldn't miss this one!  So down to Union Square I went. And I'm sure if you follow me on Twitter, you already got the play by play. Here's what I got into...

Upon arrival I was treated to a mini manicure courtesy Ginger & Liz. I opted for their winter green "Blowin' Money Fast", my fave! After that I was escorted around the table to indulge in the beautiful accessories PNK Elephant had to offer, like the gorgeous 4 finger ring pictured above in rose brushed gold.

They displayed a beautiful array of military-inspired pieces with studding and spikes and multi-finger rings galore! I was in heaven...

Imagine my surprise when they mentioned that each guest would be able to pick one item to keep. The hardest thing I did all night was try to decide which item to request. I wanted everything!

Since I've been obsessed with bows lately, my eyes were immediately drawn to this conversation piece. Reminded me of the diamond one I posted HERE so I opted for something different...

In the end, I finally made a choice and requested the hammered gold-brushed ring on the top right above. I loved the hammered effect and thought it was really unique. And it's covered in diamonds, which I love. Which of these pieces are you guys gagging over? Soundoff below!

LoveBrownSugar Chic: It's The Little Things...

As these last fleeting moments of summer pass, I'll be taking these next few weeks to relax, rejuvenate and appreciate all the things that have brought me joy this past season. From bright turquoise nail polish and bubble gum pink lipstick to Thai iced coffee, whimsical memoirs and bright-colored rings, each "little thing" served it's purpose and made this summer that much more enjoyable.

As an ode to "little things", I've posting a few photoshoot outtakes featuring a little gem I found at a local jewelry store. I really love this ring...can you tell?

What were some of your favorite "little things" this summer?
