Cover Girls: Teyana Taylor for VIBE Vixen

When the ageless Pharrell recruits you to his team, when Jay-Z refers to you as "Lil Swag," and when Kanye West wants your help designing his clothing line, you just have to be something special. You may not know Teyana Taylor for her many talents, but you definitely know her for two things; her envious locks and her distinctive urban chic style.

This September, the G.O.O.D. music artist graces Vibe Vixen's Fashion Issue and is even the stylist of the cover. It's only right. In the issue, Teyana talks about a recent feud between herself and Rihanna's "Navy" after a picture of Rihanna was mistaken for her. She credits herself with bringing back tomboy chic and we couldn't agree anymore.

The first time we were introduced to the Harlem native was on MTV's My Super Sweet 16 and for a very long time after, people wondered what she actually does aside from being so damn fly. Although her notorious sense of style hasn’t hurt, Teyana admits that she's "ready to really, really start working" and "be bigger than the clothes and the fashion."

Kickin' It: Fashion's Night Out 2012

Last night in NYC, myself and some of my favorite bloggers (Danielle of The Style & Beauty Doctor, Lexi of LexiWithTheCurls, Jessica of Glamazons Blog and Eboni of Fashionista Next Door) took to the streets for Fashion's Night Out 2012. Similar to last year, we did a blogger FNO Crawl, this time sponsored by Hello Beautiful. We had an absolute blast. Though we didn't make ALL the stops we intended (the streets were crazy packed), we were able to spot Solange, Diane Von Furstenberg, Teyana Taylor and more! Check it out:

First, we met up at the Maybelline Tent on 14th St & 9th Avenue in the Meatpacking District to meet our readers and to snap a few pics.

So many of you lovelies came out to hang with us! So much fun!

Next, we headed over to the DVF store. Yes, this was the line! Solange fans were out in full effect!

It was even packed inside the store. But the free drinks and great music kept the party going!

I met track & field Olympic Gold medalist Allyson Felix!

We spotted the lady of the hour Diane von Furstenberg! Lord, please allow me to be nearly as chic as she is when I'm her age. Just a percentage is fine. This is my prayer.

After waiting and kiki-ing for what seemed like forever, we finally had the pleasure of hearing Solange Knowles spin! She tore it up on the 1's & 2's!

Her fro is growing out so beautifully!

We were snapping picture of her, and she was snapping pics of us! We had such a blast.

Our next stop - the Beautiful Textures Curl Couture event hosted by Teyana Taylor!

Teyana was rocking long locks, a deep purple lip, simple leather jacket & pants, sheer top & Jordans.she was also sporting a glossy red mani. Simple & chic.

Eboni & Ty of Gorgeous in Grey having too much fun!

We spotted Ty Hunter - noted personal stylist of Queen Bey (Beyonce) at the party. Love him!

And of course we grabbed a pic with Teyana before the night was over.

Check out this video of all the FNO Crawl fun:

Teyana Taylor for Married to the Mob

For those of you LBS followers into graphic tees and funky street attire, Married to the Mob might be for you. Founded in 2004, this funky clothing line takes inspiration from the eclectic streets and nightlife of NYC. Teyana Taylor, aka Pharrell's young rapper/singer protege, recently did a photoshoot for the clothing line that you can now find at Karma Loop. This particular collection, entitled "Smells Like Teen Spirit" was created to channel the energy and vibe of teenagers growing up in NYC. Here are some pics of Teyana's shoot:

Teyana's sportin' them chainlink shades!! Remember my article? I told you they'd be hot!

I thought this jumper & patent boots combination was really funky...
