NYFW Fall 2012 Day 1: Sightings, Shows, Soirees, Street Style

Hey all! Here in NYC, we're in the thick of New York Fashion Week and my head hasn't stopped spinning yet. Below is a brief recap of what I got into on Friday, and  Here goes:

Sightings

At the Nicole Miller F/W 2012 show, I spotted legendary model Beverly Johnson front row. What an honor to meet her!

Angela Simmons: Fashion Mogul On The Rise

Angela Simmons, Pastry chick and friend of LoveBrownSugar has evolved from just creating sneakers but preparing to launch her own fashion line. Though she hasn't released her line’s name as of yet, the young entrepreneur has shown her fans a few of her inspired pieces via Twitter. We gave them our stamp of approval. The design below on the left comes courtesy former Pastry designer Juan Vargas, who we caught up with during New York Fashion Week last September.

Nevertheless, Angela Simmons may have been M.I.A from the small screen but she's still been working hard to further her career in the fashion realm. Let’s start with her partnering up with Rocco Leo Gagliotti during Mercedes-Benz Spring 2012 Fashion Week to co-host Fashion News Live! Angela's task, along with Rocco is to give feedback on all the latest trends during NY Fashion Week. She'll talk to the editors and designers and interview them on their point of view about their collections. Angela has also teamed up with Jay Alexander (of America's Next Top Model fame) to give us her insights on the fabulous or just drab wardrobes off the runway. How dope is that? Be prepared for this young diva to hit you hard this year with her fabulous insights on fashion.
