LoveBrownSugar Chic: Not Quite SXSW

It was one of those days when I didn't think I had anything to wear. But let's be real, we fashionistas always have something to wear, even when we have "nothing" to wear.

So it went from being a need-to-do-laundry-therefore-nothing-to-wear kinda day to a jeans, t-shirt and sneaks moment. I'm bummed I didn't get a chance to head to Austin, Texas this year to participate in South by Southwest. A few months ago while perusing the men's tee section at Buffalo Exchange, I stumbled on this old SXSW tee and decided to purchase it with the intent of wearing it there.

Life got in the way, as it tends to do, but hopefully I'll make it down next year.

My St.Patrick's Day mani is still going strong (DIY tutorial here). Perfect compliment to an arm party.

 Ever heard the phrase "Been there, done that, bought a T-shirt?" Well, I just bought the T-shirt. *shrugs*

Even though I prefer dresses and silky blouses to jeans & tees, every once in a while it's cool to switch it up.

We decided to switch up the scenery this week. There's a beautiful 19th century construction in the neighborhood that we couldn't take our eyes off of. 

 It's like a little slice of Europe in New York. I distinctly remember posing in front of a church similar to this one in Florence.

These jewels were gifted to me via House of Harlow (the cuff) and Bom Bom Jewelry (the ring). Nail polish color is Essie Bright Tights.

This is another summer oldie that I pulled out of hiding. I normally shy away from polka dots because they've been rumored to draw attraction to curves (kind of like stripes) but with a figure flattering silhouette and a great heel, they really work!

You guys know I adore anything with Navajo print. I picked up this amazing little sack on my trip to Ecuador last October.

The other week, I told you during my Instaweek recap that I went a little crazy at Joe Fresh. They have these amazing updated classics and really figure-flattering silhouettes. These are a few of the pieces I lusted over and took home.

 I've had this vintage quilted chainlink bag for almost 7 years now and it never fails. The chainlinks on the back strap are actually broken but to me it makes the bag look more unique. I don't ever think I'll get them repaired.

- Indulged on a childhood favorite, Mister Softee
