Fashion Highlights: People's Choice Awards

Looking back on the People's Choice Awards looks from last week, there were a few interesting pieces worthy of highlighting. Let me know if you agree:

This silver Antonio Berardi brocade dress looks absolutely stunning on Jessica Alba. But does anyone else think she's disappearing? Don't tell us you need to eat a sandwich too Jessica....just go on ahead and take

I think this was my fave look of the night. Mary J. Blige delights with this gorgeous Gucci piece. What makes me giddy is the embellishment on the shoulder. So unexpected, so chic...

Ms. Latifah hosted the Awards show and she looked absolutely stunning. Props go out to her camp for always keeping her in tip-top shape. She's always adorned in somethng figure-flattering....love it!

Form-fitting and bedazzled...we've come to expect this from Mariah, no? Time for something different honey...

 

Taraji looks very classy and ladylike in this one-shouldered piece. It's a little safe though, no? And I'm not a huge fan of the color but at least she's put together...

 

I must applaud Ginnifer Goodwin for being quirky and cute as a button at the same time. The dress goes along with her overall steaze, which I think is adorable. Not everybody could pull off that cut...

I have one word for this...FAIL. What was she thinking?? I can't...

Vevo Launch Party Pics

Last night stars were out in NYC for the Vevo Launch Party at the Skylight Studio:

My fave outfit of the night went to Rih Rih. She's giving us shoulder, all-black-everything and bangin' gold accessories - can you say TREND? Loves it...

Ciara stepped out in a metallic gold dress with over-the-knee lace up boots. I must say, I wasn't a fan. Oh hey Adam Lambert...

Is it me or is 50 upstaging Mary J in this pic? I'm getting tired of seeing Mary in these same all-black ensembles. Imma need you to jazz it up Mary J!

AFI Fest 2009 "Precious Screening"

This past weekend, the AFI Fest 2009 held a private screening of the new Tyler Perry film "Precious" based off the novel "PUSH" by Sapphire. There were some notable fashions of course.

Couples of the night:

Mariah looked absolutely stunning in this floor-length black gown. The neckline and silhouette are SOOOO flattering - love it! And Nick looks ok too...

Paula Patton's dress accentuates her great firgure so it's a definite win. Love the piping up top. And Robin Thicke just always looks great. That's my boo!

LOVE Mo'Nique's make-up and how it compliments her dress. She's glowing inside and out, it seems. Ran into her at the BET offices last month and she looked absolutely AMAZING. She walked up to me like "How you doing, sister?" And of course all I could do was smile. Simply beautiful.

On to the some [single] ladies:

Garcelle Beauvais looks ravishing yet age-appropriate in this great red one-shoulder dress. It seems red on the red carpet is no longer a fashion faux-pas. I see it all the time now!

Is it me or does something seem off about this outfit? Leather high-waisted pants - ok that could rock with maybe a different top and a few key accessories. But a leather-piped blazer and silk shirt is a bit too much for me. What do you guys think?
