Leotards At the Club - Fierce or Foolish?

Ok so yesterday I put Ms. Melody Thornton of the Pussycat Dolls on my Best Dressed list at the 2009 AMAs. She looked great in a white Sass & Bide embellished dress:

HOWEVER, I stumbled upon this picture of her later that night in another Sass & Bide piece...but a LEOTARD this time:

And I'm wondering....are leotards now appropriate to run through the streets in?! I thought these were strictly for pop divas on stage...is it acceptable to wear these outside of showtime...or Halloween?
