Cover Girls: Tika Sumpter for VIBE Vixen

Hollywood's newest "It-girl" Tika Sumpter chatted it up with Vibe Vixen recently for her exclusive digital cover issue this week. I had the pleasure of meeting Tika Sumpter (HERE) during fashion week, and let me say this girl is just as gorgeous in person as she is on screen. And she has a beautiful spirit, which isn't always true for many celebs.

Aside from the fact that she's absolutely stunning and making waves in Hollywood as Gossip Girl's first recurring girl of color, a role on The Game and now as part of the cast of the "Sparkle" movie remake with Jordin Sparks, she's also a Queens-bred honey (shoutout to Queens!) who is open and honest about her hangups. Here's what she told Vibe Vixen:

VV: Growing up in a single-parent home, were there any struggles that molded you?
TIKA: Not growing up with a dad was really hard, but my mom was so on point. She was a lover and the authority that basically gave us whoopings. If you missed that bus to school, you were walking. I saw my mom struggle a lot which made me not want to do the things normal teenagers do.
