LoveBrownSugar Chic: Mixed Media

So I'm officially obsessed with this leather dress from H&M (few seasons old). I wore it in an outfit post during NYFW and again earlier this season and I found yet another way to rock it with this outfit. Honestly, it's one of my favorite seasonal pieces because there are so many different ways to work it. This lovers+friends ($166.00) version is very similar. And if you're more of a skirt person, this Urban Outfitters ($99.00) version might strike your fancy.

I had been searching far & wide for a really awesome denim shirt. I found this one at American Apparel ($64.00) back in September and it's been holding me down. ASOS ($43.10) has a super cute version with a studded collar.

It's stretchy so I can wear it long or tie it at the waist and wear it cropped. Goes really well with leggings (my lazy day uniform) and pretty much anything else. It's also great for making dressy outfits a bit more casual.

So remember I told you about my backpack obsession this season? It's still going strong...

I found this leopard & leather number at Urban Outfitters ($79.00) and we've been inseparable ever since.

The booties! Y'all know I love a good bootie for the fall/winter season. I snatched these up at Bare Feet Shoes, but they're available at a few different retailers. Find a few different colors at Zoo Shoo ($38.90) - super affordable and cute.

For the face, I've been really enjoying my new foundation & powder combo from Cover FX. They were nice enough to gift me a set of products at their last press event and I've been loving them ever since. I use their Total Cover Cream Foundation ($42) and Matte Setting Powder ($32) to get complete coverage that's light and natural-looking. I layered my LiSi Cosmetics Flushed Pressed Powder Blush ($7.90) on the cheeks for a hint of color, and topped it off with my MAC Ruby Woo ($15).

As for the curls, I achieved this look with a braid-out. As promised, later this week I'll be posting about my updated hair regimen including how I achieve this look and the products I used so stay tuned.

Bootie Calls: Jeffrey Campbell Throwdown Boot

Jeffrey Campbell recently released a new exclusive wedge boot called the Throwdown. You guys know how obsessed I am with Jeffrey Campbell so when these pics landed in my inbox, I had to share...

This rugged canvas wedge is a must-have for anyone determined to look chic this winter. Featuring a hidden wedge and espadrille detailing at the bottom, it definitely looks rugged enough to battle the cold winter months. I can appreciate a style like this considering my other Jeffrey Campbell Clinics from [THIS POST] are tucked away 'till Spring...le sigh. Here they are in all black...

Bootie Calls: Jeffrey Campbell FL'10 Lookbook

So this week's Bootie Call is a shoe orgy of sorts. Instead of obsession over one particular shoe for fall, I'm completely head over heels about Jeffrey Campbell's Fall 2010 lookbook. I swear this man is one after mine own heart. These shoes give me chills. Warning, the following collage of images from Jeffrey Campbells' Fall 2010 Lookbook may cause excessive drooling....

I might die if I don't get my hands on a pair of the black laceups with wooden heel on the top left. Ugh, still drooling...

What do you guys think of the collection?

Bootie Calls: A Clog Named Slingback

So I wrote a "Sole Food" feature about these amazing Sam Edelman Falken ($180) shoes that are perfect for transitioning into fall...
You'll know I'm really IN LOVE with something when I bring it over from Honey to here. I call this style "A Clog Named Slingback". These are the perfect way to transition a trendy summer shoe into fall.

With the sling around the back, you have options. Either wear them alone with a dress and cardi or add socks/tights and a chunky sweater when the weather cools down. What do you guys think? Are you gagging like I am?

Bootie Calls: Urban's Bohemian Flat

Last night I had another bootie call. As you all know, they come few and far between but when they do come - they're dangerous. We all feel naughty shopping for shoes at 3AM, but hey when the urge comes over you, it's hard to fight...

The Industry Aztec Sandal from Urban Outfitters was last night's guilty pleasure. I'm in love with the print and absolutely obsessed with sandals I can wear everyday that have that extra POW- factor.

Wear these with all black everything and you'll still undoubtedly stand out from the crowd.

Confessions of a Shopaholic: Bootie Calls Part 2

You guys remember when I went through my last round of late night "bootie" calls. You know those midnight cravings for a hot new pair of shoes. Well this time around I'm late-night lusting after these awesome shoe boots from Aldo that need to be part of my spring accessory lineup (which, by the way, shall be revealed next week)...

The peach sorbet-colored laces have me GAGGING. Love these specimens. I can so see my pastel-painted toes in them this summer. They kinda remind me of ice skates minus the blade. Till next "bootie" call...

Confessions of a Shopaholic: Bootie Calls

One thing I know about online shopping, is that it can quickly become a guilty pleasure. Your favorite shoe stores may be physically closed at night, but when you get that midnight itch for a new pair of shoes...those online shops are always there waiting, soliciting, beckoning your fingers to click your way to shoe heaven (and sometimes debt hell). You've never felt the late night itch? Well, let me tell you, it will leave you feigning. "Bootie Calls"...that's what I call them. Nobody can resist a good pair of boots, not in the daylight and definitely not in the late night.

Well with the Fall season upon us full throttle, I've been tossing around ideas of my dream pair of boots. There are so many trends this season! How dare my bank account tell me to curb my shoe addiction...

Anyway, here are some top contenders for the lucky pair I'll be stomping the NYC pavement in:

I like these from Aldo Shoes. They're funky, they look comfy (soft canvas material) and basic enough to wear with most of my outfits. Only thing is...they're really casual. Even though I work in Soho now, can't roll up to happy hour in midtown with the girlies in these...or can I?

I like the rocker vibe these Aldo boots give off. Rocker chic is definitely "in" right now. Only problem is...they're suede. With all the rain we've been getting in the NYC lately, these might not be an everyday choice. Or am I exaggerating....decisions, decisions...

I think these might be the most practical I've seen. They're riding style, which I love, and they're a nice basic color without being just "black". Sadly, they're also the most expensive - check 'em out here Aldo

Funky! Cute! But their booties :(....I swore I wouldn't buy anymore. Should I reconsider?

And then there's good ol' faithful. The black knee-high leather boot you can wear with absolutely everything. To take risks...or to stick with the classics...this is the question.

I need your help! Vote on the sidebar on the ones you like the best. I'm indecisive :/
