LBS Announcement: New Contributors

This week is full of exciting news for LoveBrownSugar! Aside from being super hyped about my upcoming trip to Coachella, I'm ecstatic to announce that the LoveBrownSugar family is growing once again. I told you guys in my Big Leap of Faith post that I've decided this year to devote my time to building up the LoveBrownSugar site, and with that responsibility comes the need for more dedicated and passionate contributors who will put together more of the fun posts that you guys love. Last September was my first official time introducing the LBS family, so I'm pleased that the family is still growing.

Without further ado, here are our new contributors:

Kaila was born and bred in London, England and loves all things pink, Beyoncé and body art. Graduating with a BA Honours in Public Relations and Management and having experienced the PR and Marketing world she is working towards pursuing a career within the Events and PR industry. A lover of art, fashion and lipstick. She has an ever growing lipstick collection of 15..0once you pop you can't stop. A naturalista who enjoys rocking weave and spending hours watching YouTube videos and reality shows. Was Kaila's love for Beyoncé mentioned already?! Ashley is a self-identified nerd with an affinity for skincare and beauty. She is the founder and editor-in-chief of her own beauty blog, August Skin. Introduced to steam facials and clay masks by her father, Ashley spent her childhood evenings pampering herself while guzzling Nesquik and watching Nickelodeon. When she’s not testing products or writing, Ashley is nose-deep in the work of a twentieth century literary legend or wide-eyed watching a Bravo reality show unfold. (P.S. Ashley was recently selected as a Top 10 finalist in Allure Magazine's Beauty Blogger Awards - Vote for her HERE!)

Help Wanted: LoveBrownSugar Needs Contributors

It's almost that time of the year again. Yep, you know what I'm talking about. New York Fashion Week! The time of the year when my Twitter timeline is chock full of celebrity sightings, stiletto street snaps and complaints of starvation. Well, this year I don't want to do it alone. This "Devil Wears Prada" (well, more like ALDO) lifestyle is more than I can handle by myself this year. So for the first time, I'm opening up the LoveBrownSugar family to two additional members. Sound interesting? See the description below:

LoveBrownSugar.com is in search of two fashionista to help out during NYFW - one Fashion Contributor and one Fashion Intern:

Interns must live and breathe urban fashion and beauty and must have a keen eye for what's hot, trendy and "in". We are looking for someone with experience in fashion journalism and editorial. You must have excellent Internet research skills, writing and reporting skills as well as experience in online media and blogging and using social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter, etc.

You must have a positive attitude, strong work ethic and excellent attention to detail.

This is an amazing opportunity to get experience behind-the-scenes assisting with New York Fashion Week event coverage, show coverage and exclusive press previews. You may even get the opportunity to assist on photoshoots, celebrity interviews and more!

Intern Requirements:
- Must be based in NYC
- Must be available the duration of NYFW (September 6th - 13th)
- Must be able to respond to all emails and phone calls promptly
- Professional attitude and warm personality. Able to work in a fast-paced environment.

Contributor Requirements:
- Journalism/Communication background a must
- Must be available to work (remotely is fine!) all of NYFW
- Editorial experience a plus

Positions start immediately through the end of NYFW with the possibility to continue.

Cover Couple: Wendell & Sessilee for Contributing Editors

In a fashion spread entitled Two of Hearts, real life lovers - male model Wendell Lissimore (of Model City fame) and our favorite rising supermodel Sessilee Lopez - partner up (as if they aren't already joined at the hip) to show their love for high fashion and each other in Contributing Editor Magazine.

Contributing Editor Mag is a recent online find and it's safe to say I'm in love. The whole concept behind the site is to provide creative professionals with an outlet to showcase their amazing work. Mission. Accomplished. I love this spread...

 I'm in love by the pieces chosen for this spread. The accessories are great and they really pulled off the entire concept with a consistent look but enough diversity to peak our interests...

I almost DIED when I saw this shot. The afros?? Genius...
