Miu Miu Short Film "The Door" Featuring Gabrielle Union, Ava Duvernay & More

The Door, a short film produced by Ava DuVernay, is the fifth of an installment for Miu Miu's Women's Tales. The short film is a celebration of the transformative power of feminine bonds, and a symbolic story of life change.

Starring Gabrielle Union, Alfre Woodard, Emayatzy Corinealdi, Adepero Oduye and singer Goapele, the film follows main character (Gabrielle Union) from a place of deep sadness to a place of power, by way of her loving friends and her immaculate Miu Miu wardrobe. I think this is such a clever way for Miu Miu to highligh their collection in a creative and powerful way.

I also LOVE that Miu Miu chose award-winning film producer Ava Duvernay for this installment. Ava was the first African-American woman to win the Best Director Prize at Sundance Film Festival, for her second feature film, Middle of Nowhere, in 2012.

DuVernay explains, "In the film, characters arrive at the door of a friend in need, bringing something of themselves. Eventually, we witness our heroine ready to walk through the door on her own. The door in the film represents a pathway to who we are."

I love everything about this film. From the impactful visuals, to the strong acting (there's no dialogue, just pure emotion!) and of course the gorgeous Miu Miu separates. It's a visual masterpiece.

Take a look at it here:

LBS Fashion & Beauty Highlights: NAACP Image Awards

The NAACP Image Awards that aired this past Friday included some notable awards, celebrity appearances and of course fashions. One trend I noticed on a number of our fave diva celebs was the hair switcheroo - new 'dos were spotted on the red carpet for sure. Other than that, the ladies & gents of Hollywood were out in full effect dressed to the tee. Soundoff! Fierce or Foolish:

I had grown so used to "Miss Keri Baby" with her cropped side-swept cut and honey blond streaks. This time around she's giving us dark and lovely from head to toe. What do you think about Keri Hilson's switch? I almost miss the short edgy look...

Gabrielle Union was spotted in her typical layers with a twist. She's opted for some light brown highlights to switch up her look. I love the hair but not a fan of the dress so much...

This was my first time seeing Raven Symone in her new shorter cut. I have to say it's a refreshing change. I think she wears the jet black well. I want to see some color in her outfit though. This nude palette is washing her out a bit..

Besides being madly jealous of the couple - what's not to love? Eva and Lance Gross both looked stunning on the red carpet. Although Eva looks grand, Lance might have stolen the spotlight that night. I'm loving his choice of tux. So unexpected in navy blue -yet appreciated...

I thought Tatyana Ali's look was so elegant and chic. I love the deep neckline on this. Sophisticated enough for her to present during the awards, but sultry enough to emphasize her youth and vibrance. And you know I like me some sparkles and sequins!
