Cece's Curls: My First Blowout at Hair Rules Salon

Last month, when I found out I would be co-hosting an afterparty/cocktail with Curly Nikki (HERE), I knew I wanted to really jazz up my style with a fierce 'do. Since going natural back in November 2010, I had devoted myself to keeping my hair free of heat for an entire year to allow it to grow. Well, I made it! And to celebrate, I went to curly hair expert Dickey of Hair Rules Salon.

Last Thursday at Pranna NYC, myself and Curly Nikki teamed up for a super chic meet-up & afterparty to Nikki's very first NYC shindig. I met so many lovely ladies, both blog followers of LoveBrownSugar and of Curly Nikki and overall had a blast! Check out the pics below:

Last night marked the first of many conversations to come, hosted by the Hair Rules Salon in Upper West Side NYC, about Tangled Tales - a community conversation about hurt, hair and heeling. LBS contributor Desiree was on the scene to capture pics and report on the eye-opening event!

 

Flavor of Friday: Curly Pool Party NYC

NYC curly gals - this one is for you! Hair blog NaturalSelection.com and mega site NaturallyCurly.com are hosting a super fab Curly Pool Party at the Grace Hotel next Saturday, July 23rd. 

 

 

What: Stylists from Ouidad, Hair Rules, Jane Carter and Shea Moisture will be pool-side to demonstrate styles specific for water and summer fun. Curlies will be invited to swim and mingle while getting product knowledge.  

 

Shea Moisture will be on hand to provide knowledge on summer skin-saving techniques as well as give each guest an exclusive treatment in the steam room and saunas.  Each guest will receive a gift bag worth over $50.  Also, with each ticket purchase, you are entered to win tons of prizes from the brands; and if you show your Curls On The Go mobile app, you are automatically entered to win an iPad!

All guests are encouraged to jump in the pool at Grace Hotel, but casual pool-side attire is welcome for those who are there strictly for the styling and mingling.
