LBS in San Francisco: Day 1

So a few weeks ago, I was sitting in my apartment in NYC after having been incredibly frustrated on the train ride home from work. I nearly had a panic attack on the train platform after witnessing some less than appropriate behavior (yes it involved a homeless man without...pants) and it dawned on me that it was high time for a weekend getaway. I've been meaning to explore more of the US, as my idea of "getaway" is normally beachside on an island far far away. Anyway,  I had recently heard amazing things about San Francisco. For a techie like me with an affinity for sunny days and amazing food, it seemed like a dream. So, just like that I booked a roundtrip ticket and here I am a few weeks later!

Sometimes, you just have to take out some time for yourself to reflect and to explore. I happen to have a good friend Jumi who's from San Fran and, on a whim, she decided to be my unofficial tour guide and take the weekend off to come chill with old friends and rediscover her hometown.

So far, I'm incredibly impressed with the city. The people here are really friendly. Everyone greets you with a smile and the intensity of the sun here is enough to make you forget about your woes. The city is full of these amazing hills and I've heard it's a foodies paradise (duh! that's me).

We're staying at the InterContinental San Francisco. The views from this hotel are just...breathtaking. It's right in the heart of SoMa and really close to amazing shopping at Union Street.

I opted for a nice flowy maxi since it was pretty warm upon arrival. I topped it off with my vintage leather jacket and my Cambridge Satchel for a pop of color.

After shopping, we headed to this area called The Marina and grabbed drinks at The Tipsy Pig.

So far, I'm enjoying what San Fran has to offer. More pics & updates soon!

Have you ever been to San Francisco? Any recommendations? Let me know!

  1. You have to go thrifting there. San Fran has one of the best thrift/vintage stores out there. Some of my favorite finds I wear today are from San Fran. It's a little pricey compared to the East Coast thrift/vintage prices but it's so worth it.
