A few week ago, I took a little trip to thrift and consignment shop Buffalo Exchange (posted about it HERE) and had myself a grand ole time picking out new pieces for spring. Here's a glimpse at some items I tried on for size...
Spring is my favorite time of year for a number of reasons, but at the top of my list of reasons for loving the season is dress-wearing! So of course I didn't even look at pants or shirts, I made a beeline for the dress section. One of the great things about Buffalo Exchange (and why I prefer it to Beacon's Closet) is that all the items are organized by size and by type as opposed to just color. So I found all the dresses they had to offer in my size, in one convenient place.
I picked this slim-fitting dress off the racks with the preconception that it would be severely unflattering. To my surprise, it actually hugged my curves really well. Still, I felt I needed a few more inches off the waist before busting out in a body conscious piece like this one.
I nearly died when I saw this amazing print peeking through the racks at me. The material is sheer silk but thankfully I came prepared with a thin black slip. As a bonus, this dress doubles as a beach caftan to throw over bathing suits in the summer. Love a versatile statement piece!
I almost walked out the store without laying my eyes on this beauty. Right before heading to the register I happened to see this one laying off to the side. Immediately I thought "Sunday Brunch" and grabbed it up rushing back to the fitting room like it was the store's best kept secret. Anyway, I'm in love!
Who doesn't love a good floral piece for spring? And it's peplum! I hardly ever find peplum dresses that flatter me. In the end, I purchased the floral print dress above and the silk printed caftan.I left the form-fitting dress for another shopper to take home & treasure.
