LoveBrownSugar's Top 5: Fashion's Night Out NYC

In case you missed the awesomeness that consumed NYC last September as Fashion's Night Out did it's first annual kickoff, don't fret! We're doing it all over again on Friday, September 10th to kick off Mercedes Benz Fashion Week. With a new website that allows you to browse FNO events by neighborhood, by type, and even by celebrity appearance, things can get a bit overwhelming. New to the game? Let LoveBrownSugar walk you through the Top 5 Hot Spots we'll be hitting up this Friday night. The name of the game is Block Parties this time around. You get more bang for your buck with free food, drinks, shopping and celeb appearances lumped into one! And the parties are ten times more fun downtown, so we'll be spending our time hitting up Soho and the Meatpacking District. Check out the itinerary:

Join Jessica Alba and Andre Leon Talley downtown at Ralph Lauren Soho for champagne, shopping and a stylish performance by Grammy nominated singer Janelle Monae. Monae’s 360 degree concert from the oversized loft windows will have guests dancing in the street to her soulful musical musings in honor of Fashion’s Night Out.

Diane von Furstenberg takes Fashion’s Night Out to the digital universe with The DVF and HP Experience Lounge, a multimedia event that will transform the DVF boutique and gallery into an interactive fashion playground. Hosted by Refinery29.com, the evening will feature cutting-edge fashion installations, complete with a ‘Fall Favorites’ photo booth featuring DVF items curated by Refinery29.com editors on display for shoppers to utilize when browsing their most-desired DVF looks. Photos can be printed, posted to Facebook or streamed live into the lounge on social feed monitors, allowing guests to engage with the fashion community and interact with DVF. Computer terminals and touch screens will feature up-to-the-minute news about FNO from around the city, and the world! 


FINAL STOP: Tory Burch

Tory Burch is hosting the second neighborhood block party at her Meatpacking Boutique (38-40 Little West 12th Street) to celebrate Fashion’s Night Out 2010. DJ Cassidy will be spinning, and Shake Shack will be barbequing. A limited edition tote bag inspired from the Fall 2010 collection will be given to every customer who makes a purchase of $100 or more that night and on toryburch.com. NYC boutiques will be selling the Fashion’s Night Out collection and donating 40% of t-shirt sales to the New York City AIDS Fund.
