  1. If I could be any old school diva, it would have to be Ms. Diana Ross! She embodies the word diva. Not only is she one of the most successful female artists of all time, she’s an accomplished actress. Plus she’s fashion icon! Ms. Ross personified the Motown era with mini dress and bouffant wigs. In the 70s and 80s glamorous gowns and big shoulder pants suits. Diana Ross has made an impact on every decade she’s been performing. In one word Diana Ross is FIERCE!

  2. If I was an old school diva it would have to be Angela Davis. She embodies strenght and perserverence. She stood up for what was right and what she believed in. It is always encouraging to see a strong black woman.

  3. Donna Summer - Who can forget "Love to Love You Baby" or "Last Dance". Besides the ultimate Diva, Diana Ross, Donna Summer had that exotic, sultry, Diva voice that captivated *ALL ages. Her music was a combination of Dance, Rock and Roll, Pop, Disco and R&B all collectively wrapped up in her songs.

  4. I must say this is hard to name just one DIVA there are so many great women to choose from. However I have to choose Tina Turner. She is not only a rocking great singer but the confidence that she exudes on stage and in life is so beautiful. Though she is beautiful on the outside her inner strength has been a driving force in my life. After reading her biography some years ago, I was given the strength continue on in life's journey. I know from her tenacity that if she can do it so can I. And how can you not love a woman who can hold the title for sexiest legs in her 60's. With her kind of fierceosity she should be leaving burn marks at her every step.

  5. If I could be any old school diva it would be Billie Holiday. She's a perfect example of old school glamour, beauty, and plain old raw, amazing talent. She came from nothing and worked her butt off to get her name and music out there, which is inspirational in itself. And she took the pain in her life and created beautiful music. When hear the divas of today, like Mary J. Blige, Amy Winehouse, etc. I can't help but be reminded of the beautiful diva that came before them. She is truly a "Lady" in every sense of the word.
