LoveBrownSugar Fashion Week Coverage: Wayne & Christian Siriano

Yesterday was quite a fun-filled day for ya girl! I was out and about indulging in my first few shows of the season. I delighted in the opulent sportswear at Wayne's Fall 2010 Collection in the AM, and then gawked over the whimsical ruffles, tiers and rocker chic pieces at Christian Siriano's Fall 2010 collection in the afternoon. I must say, as it was my first official day viewing collections with the privilege of an exclusive press pass, it was a bit nostalgic being under those tents. Not just because this is the last official season Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week will be held in Bryant Park, but also because less than 6 months ago I was under those tents with VOLUNTEER stamped on my chest. I'm truly blessed.
Enough with the nostalgia, now down to business. Here's my recap:

Wayne Fall 2010

The Wayne Fall 2010 Collection is one that just makes you excited about Fall. Remember that feeling you used to get a week before school started when mom took you school shopping? It brought back that same good old feeling...like new beginnings. From the loose, draped silhouettes down to the camo and zebra prints, the Wayne collection was very signature of the brand and a refreshing take on edgy sportswear.

One mark of a good designer - making muted colors and oversized silhouettes look sexy. Wayne Lee (designer) did that effortlessly. Kudos for a job well done.

Christian Siriano Fall 2010

Showing in the Promenade at Bryant Park, Christian Siriano's Fall 2010 collection was nothing less than an  extension of himself; chic, slightly hipster, and a whole lot of fun! From the ruffles and layered chiffon down to the body conscious party frocks and edgy looks, Christian Siriano's collection was well rounded and robust.

One of my fave models Sessilee Lopez actually opened the show and closed it. His finale dress was over the top and absolutely FAB! I would consider this as a wedding option in white...amasing. Overall, good times at Christian Siriano's show!

I also met one of my favorite style commentators Phillip Bloch at the show. I've literally been watching this man on TV since I was 12. I remember those years watching Full Frontal Fashion and hanging onto his every word. Dreams do come true!
